1. Desert Botanical Gardens
Explore the Sonoran Desert and its wide variety of plants, and even take classes to learn about landscaping, art, and cooking.
The Desert Botanical Garden is approximately 140 acres and was founded by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society in 1937, and now has more than 50,000 plants, of which about 1/3 are native to the area, and 379 species which are rare or endangered. There are special collections of agave plants and cacti, and some plants are also protected in shadehouses. The Garden also offers dining, tours, workshops, and education on desert landscaping and horticulture, photography, nature art, and health and wellness.

2. Musical Instrument Museum
Visit the worlds only global musical instrument museum.
The Musical Instrument Museum is home of the MIM Music Theater, which seats 300 people in an acoustically designed room, as well as Cafe Allegro, which has won numerous food critic awards, and the MIM Museum store, where guests can browse for a number of unique gifts. Most guests to the museum spend approximately four hours, browsing the collection of over 7,500 instruments from more than 200 countries around the world.
The Museum was founded by Robert J. Ulrich, who was the CEO and chairman of Target Corporation. The museum covers about 200,000 sq ft, with two floors of galleries. The museum cost over $250 million dollars to build, and features an exhibit for each country, with a video screen that shows musicians performing on native instruments. the Musical Instrument Museum is a must see for residents and visitors alike.

3. Camelback Mountain
The Heard Museum is the foremost showcase of Native American art and culture in the United States
The Heard Museum reveals the cultures of different tribes in the region through live performances, exhibits, and demonstrations, and also showcases the works of contemporary Native American artists. The Heard Museum is a private, not-for-profit museum that is dedicated to the advancement of American Indian art, and it presents the stories of American Indians from a first-person perspective. The museum was founded in 1929 by Dwight B. and Maie Bartlett Heard to house their own personal art collection. Much of the material in the Heard's collection came from the La Ciudad Indian ruin. The current collection in the museum consists of over 40,000 items, along with a library and archives that house over 34,000 volumes. The museum is over 130,000 square feet, and consists of galleries, classrooms, and performance space.
